Was getting tripped up on transformers today.
What I was messing up:
- Mixing up primary vs secondary values
- Not keeping voltage/current relationships straight
- Trying to memorize instead of understanding the ratio
What clicked:
Stopped thinking of it as random formulas and just focused on the ratio.
If voltage goes up → current goes down
If voltage goes down → current goes up
Once I kept that consistent, everything made more sense.
Also started writing it out like:
Primary → Secondary
That helped me stop flipping things in my head.
Takeaway:
Don’t memorize transformer problems—follow the ratio and direction.
Next step:
Do more practice problems without looking at notes.
