Featured Sparkys is becoming a regular part of the Monthly, and honestly, I really like the idea behind it.

There are a lot of people out there doing good things in the electrical trade and skilled trades in general. Electricians, apprentices, inspectors, educators, business owners, creators, and people simply trying to share what they've learned. I'm not interested in turning that into some ranking of who's "the best" because that's not really what this is about.

If I find somebody who's putting out something useful, entertaining, educational, motivating, or just genuinely positive for the trade, I want to put them on your radar.

⚡ This Month's Featured Sparkys

For September, I'm highlighting five different people/pages that I think are worth checking out.

The 360 Electrician is bringing attention to something that doesn't always get enough attention when you're learning the actual electrical work: the business side of the trade. Estimating, operations, finances, marketing, and running a company are all skills too. If you eventually want to own or operate an electrical business, there's a lot to learn beyond just knowing how to make an installation.

@its_electricaltime is another page worth checking out if you're looking for electrical education on social media. They consistently put out electrical knowledge, quick tips, tutorials, and longer-form educational content. I like seeing people take electrical concepts and make them easier to consume without completely losing the educational value.

@thepreachingelectrician brings a different combination to the table, mixing electrical trade content with faith, motivation, and personal development. The trade is about more than just the work itself. Your attitude, how you treat people, your work ethic, and the standards you hold yourself to all matter. That's something I can get behind.

@new_mexico_sparky gives you a look at the electrical trade from an inspector's perspective. I think that's valuable because electricians and inspectors can sometimes look at the exact same situation from completely different angles. Understanding what the other person is looking at can make you better at your own work — even if you don't always agree.

And finally, @johnny.the.electrician brings some humor into the trade with electrical memes, jobsite humor, faith, and motivation. Electrical work can be stressful and serious enough already, so sometimes you need somebody who can make you laugh about the ridiculous stuff that happens on the job. The motivation and positive side of his content fit right in too.

Why I'm Doing This

One of the things I want JoshTheSparky to become is a place where you can find other people worth following.

I don't want everything to revolve around me or this website. There are already a ton of people building their own platforms, teaching their own specialties, sharing their experiences, and helping people get better at the trade.

If I can help put some of those people in front of another electrician, apprentice, student, or tradesperson who hadn't found them yet, that's a win.

So take some time to check these people out, follow the ones you like, learn from them, and support what they're doing.

And this list is far from finished.

I'm going to keep adding people as I come across electricians, tradespeople, educators, inspectors, businesses, and creators who I think deserve some attention.
