SLIDE 1 (HOOK / COVER)
⚡ NEC Quick Hit: Resistors & Reactors (Part 1 - Article 470) ⚡
System scopes, component exclusions, and the surprising split on reconditioned equipment—welcome to Article 470! Let's break down the fundamentals! 👇
SLIDE 2 (SCOPE & EXCLUSIONS)
What Article 470 Covers & Excludes:
General Scope: Article 470 covers the installation of separate resistors and reactors on electrical circuits.
Apparatus Exclusions: This article does not cover resistors and reactors that are built-in component parts of other apparatus.
SLIDE 3 (RECONDITIONED EQUIPMENT RULES)
The Reconditioned Equipment Split:
Reactors Permitted: Reconditioned current-limiting reactors are permitted to be installed.
Resistors Prohibited: Reconditioned resistors shall not be installed under any circumstances.
SLIDE 4 (WRAP-UP)
💡 Apprentice Pro-Tip: Remember that while reconditioned reactors are allowed on jobsites, installing reconditioned resistors is strictly prohibited by the National Electrical Code!
