SLIDE 1 (HOOK / COVER)
⚡ NEC Quick Hit: Track, Horticultural & Germicidal Lighting (Part 4) ⚡
Lighting track restrictions, horticultural GFCI/SPGFCI protection, and germicidal UV-C rules—let's finish Article 410! 👇
SLIDE 2 (LIGHTING TRACK INSTALLATIONS)
Track Layouts and Support:
Prohibited Locations: Lighting track is banned in damp/wet locations, storage battery rooms, hazardous areas, or where concealed behind walls.
Mounting Intervals: Continuous track runs must be securely fastened, with individual 4-foot sections requiring at least two supports (plus one additional support per extra section).
SLIDE 3 (HORTICULTURAL & GERMICIDAL LIGHTING)
Specialized Growing & Sanitizing Equipment:
Horticultural Protections: Cord-connected horticultural lighting requires Class A GFCI protection for circuits up to 150V to ground, and an SPGFCI (max 20 mA trip) for circuits exceeding 150V.
Germicidal UV-C Systems: Luminaires emitting germicidal irradiation must be explicitly identified, restricted from dwellings unless specifically listed, and installed per manufacturer safety instructions.
SLIDE 4 (WRAP-UP) 💡 Apprentice Pro-Tip:
When wiring commercial indoor grow facilities, verify that all horticultural flexible cord assemblies are backed by proper Class A GFCI or SPGFCI protection based on voltage levels!
