The Featured Sparky program exists to highlight electricians, apprentices, students, educators, contractors, creators, and other members of the electrical community.

These Featured Sparky Submission & Release Terms explain the permissions and expectations associated with voluntarily participating in a Featured Sparky feature.

By submitting information or media specifically for consideration as a Featured Sparky, you acknowledge and agree to these terms.

1. Purpose of the Featured Sparky Program

Featured Sparkys may be highlighted through JoshTheSparky.com and its associated content channels to:

• Share experiences from the electrical community.

• Highlight learning and career journeys.

• Showcase projects and accomplishments.

• Share educational knowledge.

• Introduce community members to other electricians and learners.

• Encourage discussion and knowledge sharing.

• Recognize meaningful contributions to the electrical trade.

Being selected as a Featured Sparky is not a guarantee of employment, business opportunities, sponsorship, compensation, endorsement, or other benefit.

2. Voluntary Participation

Participation in the Featured Sparky program is voluntary.

You may decline to participate or withdraw your submission before publication by contacting JoshTheSparky.com through the available contact methods.

Once content has been published, removal requests will be considered on a case-by-case basis and may not always be possible where content has already been distributed through third-party platforms.

3. Information You May Provide

A Featured Sparky submission may include information such as:

• Name.

• Professional title or role.

• Electrical experience.

• Apprenticeship or educational background.

• Career journey.

• Projects.

• Skills.

• Professional interests.

• Public business information.

• Public social media accounts.

• Website information.

• Photographs.

• Videos.

• Audio.

• Interviews.

• Written responses.

• Other information voluntarily provided for the feature.

You should only provide information that you are comfortable having publicly published.

4. Accuracy of Your Submission

You are responsible for the information you provide.

You agree to make reasonable efforts to provide accurate information and not intentionally submit false or misleading information.

If information changes before publication, you may contact JoshTheSparky.com to request an update.

JoshTheSparky.com may edit or clarify information for presentation, formatting, or accuracy.

5. Rights to Submitted Material

By submitting photographs, videos, audio, written material, graphics, or other media for a Featured Sparky feature, you represent that:

• You created the material; or

• You have permission to provide it to JoshTheSparky.com; or

• You otherwise have the necessary rights to authorize its use.

You should not submit copyrighted, confidential, proprietary, or privately owned material belonging to another person or organization without appropriate permission.

6. Permission to Publish

By submitting material specifically for a Featured Sparky feature, you grant JoshTheSparky.com permission to use the submitted material for the purpose of creating, publishing, displaying, distributing, and promoting the Featured Sparky feature.

This permission may include use on:

• JoshTheSparky.com.

• JoshTheSparky.com social media accounts.

• JoshTheSparky.com video channels.

• JoshTheSparky.com podcast or audio channels.

• Newsletters.

• Educational content.

• Promotional posts relating to the Featured Sparky feature.

• Other JoshTheSparky.com-controlled media channels.

This permission is intended to allow JoshTheSparky.com to present and promote the Featured Sparky feature across its own media platforms.

7. Name, Professional Information, and Likeness

If you voluntarily provide your name, professional information, photograph, video, or other identifying material for a Featured Sparky feature, you authorize JoshTheSparky.com to use that material in connection with the feature.

This may include:

• Your name.

• Professional title.

• Apprenticeship or trade status.

• Business name.

• Public website.

• Public social media accounts.

• Photograph.

• Video appearance.

• Audio recording.

• Interview responses.

JoshTheSparky.com will not intentionally represent you as being associated with a company, organization, or credential that you have not identified or authorized.

8. Editing and Formatting

JoshTheSparky.com may edit submitted material for:

• Grammar.

• Spelling.

• Length.

• Formatting.

• Clarity.

• Organization.

• Platform requirements.

• Removal of unnecessary private information.

Editing will not intentionally change the substantive meaning of your contribution or falsely attribute statements to you.

JoshTheSparky.com may create excerpts, headlines, titles, captions, thumbnails, or promotional descriptions based on the feature.

9. Promotional Use

JoshTheSparky.com may promote the Featured Sparky feature using portions of the submitted material.

For example, JoshTheSparky.com may create:

• Social media posts.

• Short-form videos.

• Promotional graphics.

• Quotes or excerpts.

• Video thumbnails.

• Newsletter references.

• Website previews.

Promotional use will be related to the Featured Sparky feature or JoshTheSparky.com community.

10. No Payment Unless Separately Agreed

Being a Featured Sparky does not automatically create a paid relationship.

Unless JoshTheSparky.com and the Featured Sparky separately agree otherwise in writing:

• No payment is guaranteed.

• No sponsorship is created.

• No affiliate relationship is created.

• No employment relationship is created.

• No contractor relationship is created.

Participation is generally voluntary.

11. Featured Sparky Is Not an Endorsement

Being featured does not necessarily mean JoshTheSparky.com endorses:

• Every opinion expressed by the Featured Sparky.

• Every product or service mentioned.

• The Featured Sparky's employer.

• The Featured Sparky's business.

• Every company associated with the Featured Sparky.

• Every recommendation made by the Featured Sparky.

A Featured Sparky feature is intended primarily to highlight the individual and their contribution or experience.

Separate sponsorship, affiliate, or commercial relationships will be disclosed when applicable.

12. Commercial Relationships

A Featured Sparky may have relationships with businesses, manufacturers, contractors, educational platforms, or other organizations.

If the Featured Sparky's participation involves a material commercial relationship relevant to the content, JoshTheSparky.com may request appropriate disclosure.

A Featured Sparky should not intentionally present paid promotional material as an independent personal opinion without appropriate disclosure.

13. Jobsite and Employer Information

Featured Sparkys should obtain appropriate permission before submitting:

• Customer information.

• Employer-confidential information.

• Proprietary plans.

• Private jobsite information.

• Security information.

• Private project documentation.

• Confidential business information.

JoshTheSparky.com is not responsible for determining whether a Featured Sparky has permission from an employer, customer, contractor, property owner, or other third party.

The person submitting the material remains responsible for obtaining necessary permissions.

14. Other People's Images and Likeness

If another identifiable person appears in submitted photographs, video, or other media, the Featured Sparky should obtain appropriate permission before submitting the material where reasonably necessary.

Do not submit private recordings or images of people who reasonably expect privacy without authorization.

15. No Guarantee of Publication

Submitting a Featured Sparky application or materials does not guarantee selection or publication.

JoshTheSparky.com may:

• Accept a submission.

• Decline a submission.

• Delay publication.

• Request additional information.

• Request corrections.

• Edit the submission.

• Remove or decline particular material.

• Cancel a planned feature.

Selection decisions may be based on relevance, educational value, community interest, available resources, safety, accuracy, or other editorial considerations.

16. Removal After Publication

If you later request that a Featured Sparky feature be removed, JoshTheSparky.com will consider the request.

However, removal may not be possible from:

• Third-party social media platforms.

• Search engine caches.

• User shares.

• Screenshots.

• Reposts.

• Archived material.

• Previously distributed newsletters.

• Other content outside JoshTheSparky.com's control.

JoshTheSparky.com may remove or update content under its control when reasonably appropriate.

17. No Transfer of Ownership

Submitting material does not transfer ownership of your original copyrighted material to JoshTheSparky.com.

You generally retain ownership of material you own.

The permission described in these terms is a license to use the submitted material for the Featured Sparky feature and related JoshTheSparky.com activities, rather than a transfer of copyright ownership.

18. Third-Party Platforms

Featured Sparky content may be distributed through third-party platforms.

Those platforms may have their own:

• Sharing functionality.

19. Safety and Professional Representation

Featured Sparkys are responsible for accurately representing their qualifications, experience, licenses, certifications, and professional status.

JoshTheSparky.com does not independently verify every statement made by a Featured Sparky.

A Featured Sparky feature should not be interpreted as verification that the individual is licensed, certified, qualified, insured, employed by a particular company, or authorized to perform particular work unless JoshTheSparky.com specifically states that such information has been independently verified.

20. Relationship With Other JoshTheSparky Policies

Featured Sparky participation is also subject to applicable JoshTheSparky.com policies, including:

• Terms of Service.

• Privacy Policy.

• Community & User Submission Guidelines.

• JoshTheSparky Network Policy.

• Sponsorship Disclosure & Transparency.

• Affiliate Disclosure.

• Copyright & Content Use Policy.

• Electrical Safety Disclaimer & Guidelines.

If a separate written agreement specifically applies to a Featured Sparky project, that agreement may establish additional terms.

Featured Sparky Acknowledgment

By voluntarily submitting material specifically for consideration as a Featured Sparky, you acknowledge that:

You have the right to submit the material, you understand that the material may be publicly published, and you authorize JoshTheSparky.com to use the submitted material as described in these terms.

Featured Sparky participation is about sharing people, experiences, knowledge, and stories from the electrical community.
