⚡ Sparky Journal — OSHA 10 Construction
If you’re in the trade and you still haven’t done your OSHA 10 Construction, you’re leaving an easy win on the table.
This isn’t just a card for your wallet — it’s the baseline for how you’re expected to move on a jobsite.
OSHA 10 Construction covers the stuff that actually keeps you working and safe:
Fall protection basics
Ladder and scaffold safety
PPE requirements
Electrical hazards awareness
Jobsite rights and responsibilities
It’s not complicated, but it sets the standard. More importantly, it tells an employer you understand how not to be a liability on day one.
Pro tip from someone who just knocked it out:
They lock you at 7 hours 30 minutes a day, but you can easily grind through about half the modules (10 total) in that window. The course works great on both PC and mobile, so you can knock out hours literally anywhere, anytime. Take good notes — especially on the topics with puzzle games and practice quizzes. They also give you a downloadable study guide, so use it. As a sparky, lean on your NEC knowledge — it gives you a big edge on the electrical hazard sections.
Too many people treat it like “just another online course.”
Reality is — it’s the difference between showing up green and showing up prepared.
If you’re serious about the trade, do it. No excuses. Don’t wait for someone to require it. Get it done now rather than later.
I finished mine in about 3 days through OSHA.com. They’ll mail your official DOL card in roughly two weeks. You can also view my completion certificate here: [Link]
