Listen up. We talk a lot about respecting physics and the NEC, but we need to talk about respecting the feed.
Lately, there’s been a surge of fake accounts impersonating the heavy hitters—Mike Holt, Paul Abernathy (Master The NEC), and even clones of this account. These scammers aren't here to help you pass your exam; they’re here to phish your data or sell you garbage "prep" packets (usually stolen or copied from the pros).
The Handle Check: Look for that extra underscore or the double letter. If it isn't the exact handle you know, it’s a fake.
The DM Slide: If "I" or a major educator randomly DMs you asking for a WhatsApp number or offering "crypto," it is a scam.
Follower Count: If a "Master" account has 100 followers and 2 posts from yesterday, hit the report button. I guarantee you it’s NOT a "backup account."
We’re building a community of apprentices and pros who actually care about the WHY behind the code. These fake gurus dilute the trade and put you at risk by spreading misinformation.
The Golden Rule: Ask yourself: "Did I contact them, or did they contact me? And why would they be reaching out to me?"
Bottom line: If it feels "off," it is. Keep your impedance low and your guard high.
Stay safe, stay aware. 👊⚡️
