⚡ SPARKY WEEKLY — WEEK 26

Another week of studying, building, learning, and continuing to expand what JoshTheSparky is becoming. This week included 20 hours of focused study and approximately 300 electrical and NEC questions, along with getting back into Bay Path Journeyman Training Module 5, where I finished Class 1, Week 1 and got an overview of what's coming with load calculations, box fill, conduit fill, AC theory, and electrical circuitry.

The Quick Hits this week included retouched reposts from the early days of JoshTheSparky along with finishing Chapter 1 of the NEC study slides, which are now being formatted into the website's Quick Hit section. Question of the Week, three 2026 NEC Brain Buster packets, Deep NEC Web Browsing Episode 2, Featured Sparkys, electrical educators, NECChat, the website, app, newsletter, Journal, Radio, teaching, and TradeHog all continued moving forward.

🧠 20 Hours / 300 Questions — Continued NEC study covering calculations, theory, demand factors, load calculations, equipment, branch circuits, grounding and bonding, and the fundamentals underneath the Code.

🏫 Bay Path Module 5 — Finished Class 1, Week 1, covering what's ahead with load calculations, box fill, conduit fill, AC theory, and electrical circuitry.

📲 Quick Hits & Chapter 1 — Retouched some early JoshTheSparky posts and finished Chapter 1 of the NEC study slides for the website's Quick Hit section.

❓ Question of the Week — This week's question focused on conduit fill with four #8 THHN copper conductors, three #10 THHN copper conductors, and one #10 THHN copper equipment grounding conductor in 1-inch EMT.

🧠 2026 NEC Brain Busters — There are now 3 packets of 2026 NEC Brain Busters available, continuing the process of finding the Code, working through the problem, and verifying the answer.

🔎 Deep NEC Web Browsing — Episode 2 — Released Episode 2, focusing on the changes from the 2023 to the 2026 NEC using Mike Holt's EC&M article covering the top 25 changes.

⭐ September Featured Sparkys — Updated the Featured Sparkys lineup with @The360Electrician, @its_electricaltime, @thepreachingelectrician, @new_mexico_sparky, and @johnny.the.electrician.

🎓 Electrical Educators — Continued learning from other educators, including Thomas Domitrovich's Mastering the Electrical Service series, catching up through Part 3.

📰 Trade News & Industry Reading — Continued following NECA, MECA, EC&M, Electrical Contractor Magazine, Mike Holt, Electrical Code Academy, NEC/NFPA, CMECP, IAEI, and other electrical-industry resources.

📲 NECChat / FastTraxSystem — Continued improving the community with push notifications for posts and replies while following new forum conversations and questions.

🌐 JoshTheSparky.com — Continued building the website as the main home and long-term archive for the project, keeping the information organized outside of social-media feeds.

📱 JoshTheSparky App — The Base44 app is now live with forums and Brain Busters, while profiles, reputation, achievements, dashboards, settings, and other community features continue being built.

📰 Sparky Monthly — September's newsletter is out, continuing the monthly archive and another way to bring everything happening around JoshTheSparky together.

📖 Sparky's Journal — Continued adding entries including What Is NECA, Featured Sparkys of September, the NEC 2026 Book Highlight, and NECA's 125-Year Anniversary.

🎙️ Radio & Podcast — Updated the Radio section with plans to bring video content into the RSS feed as full video or audio, while continuing to work toward bringing the live broadcast back.

🎓 Teaching & Future Courses — Started working on a How to Study mini-course while continuing to develop the practice teaching side and eventually work toward a deeper NEC Chapter 1 course.

🤖 TradeHog & AI — Continued developing TradeHog.net as the official AI of JoshTheSparky.com, with a new demo available through the JoshTheSparky AI page and an emphasis on verifying AI-generated information.

🏫 Long-Term Archive — Continued building JoshTheSparky into a long-term archive of Journals, Weeklies, newsletters, questions, Brain Busters, lessons, videos, podcasts, community conversations, projects, and resources.

🏗️ NECA Show 2026 — The 2026 NECA Show is coming October 4–7 in Las Vegas. I'm not attending this year, but I'll still be following the educational material, new products, and industry discussions coming out of the event.

📖 Daily Foundation

The foundation is still the same: study the trade, work the questions, build experience, learn from people who know more than you, explain what you're learning, and verify everything.

There's a lot happening around JoshTheSparky right now. The website, app, community, content, Journal, newsletter, podcast, broadcast, and educational side are all continuing to grow. But underneath all of that is still one apprentice trying to become a better electrician.

The electrical trade is still the foundation. The NEC is still the classroom. The questions are still the practice. The field is still where the knowledge has to make sense. The community is still the people. Everything else is being built around that.

Keep studying. Keep building. Keep learning. Take care of yourself. Confirm everything.
