What Article 422 Covers:
Broad Application: Covers electrical appliances used in any occupancy that are fastened in place or cord- and plug-connected (such as air conditioners, dishwashers, and water heaters).
Listing Mandate: All appliances supplied by 50 volts or higher must be listed.
SLIDE 3 (MANDATORY GFCI PROTECTION)
Protecting Personnel:
Covered Equipment: Class A GFCI protection is strictly required for appliances rated 150 volts or less to ground and 60 amperes or less, including:
Automotive vacuum machines and tire inflators
Drinking water coolers and bottle fill stations
Cord- and-plug-connected high-pressure spray washers
Vending machines and sump pumps
